Medeama presents FA Cup to Gold Fields - Ghana Web
Newly-crowned MTN/FA Cup lords, Medeama Sporting Club, will present the giant trophy they won at the expense of defending champions Asante Kotoko last month to their major sponsors, Gold Fields Ghana, and Ghana Manganese Company (GMC) today.
The president of Medeama, Mr Moses Armah, aka Mospacka, disclosed to the Daily Graphic yesterday that the Medeama delegation, comprising players and officials, would be led by the club’s Board Chairman, Dr Toni Aubynn.
He said the team will first visit the Damang offices of Gold Fields at 9a.m., followed by the GMC at Nsuta at 12noon.
According to Mr Armah, the trophy tour will be climaxed with a visit to the Tarkwa mines of Gold Fields at 4p.m.
Medeama, who beat Kotoko 1-0 to win their maiden MTN FA Cup title in 2013, repeated the dose with a 2-1 triumph in this year’s final at Essipon on August 30.
Medeama will, therefore, meet league champions Ashantigold in a Super Cup thriller which will be of keen interest to their respective headline sponsors, Gold Fields and Anglogold Ashanti.
Medeama’s recent achievement is expected to motivate their sponsors to do more for the club as part of their corporate social responsibility for the people in the Tarkwa community.
