Abosso Gold Fields to partner government to improve road network - Modern Ghana

Damang, (W/R) Sept. 9, GNA - The Abosso Goldfields, Damang mines is to assist government to rehabilitate the Bogoso junction linking Damang to guarantee better movement of goods and persons.

Mr Robert Siaw, Manager, in Charge of Sustainable Development told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the Bogoso junction to Damang road links lots of communities within the Prestea Huni/Valley District and making it motorable could improve the economic life of the people.

The Sustainable Development Manager said Mr Alfred Baku, the Executive Vice President and Head of West Africa Mines initiated the efforts on the project and formed a three-member committee to oversee it successful implementation.

Mr Siaw added that already a community Consultation Committee (CCC) meeting is ongoing while authorities of the Ghana Highway Authority are involved in the process.

'Abosso Gold Fields, Damang is committed to partnering government to fix the road,' he said.

Madam Agnes Boah Amponsah, a member of CCC from Subri community, was grateful to the mining company for the initiative to improve the road network which would translate into the economic well-being of the people.
